Have you seen those sites offering Cheap Traffic and Hits. You know the the kind promising a million hits to your web site for what seems to be a very reasonable price. Well, I've got news for you. If web traffic is so hard to get then how can they sell it so cheaply? Oh, they may or may not deliver on what they promise. I've tried a few of these and they all work off of a different angle. Some can't deliver what they sell. Meaing you buy something that will take them the next 2000 years to deliver. Most deliver low quality hits which could be delivered as popups, popunders, autosurf displays. Yes I suppose the delivered traffic to your site, but definitely not the kind you want! Others pay viewers fractions of a cent to look at your pages, but usually they are in it for the money, not to spend any. Other unscrupulous hit sellers will use an army of proxy computers to visit your website. Sure your site got hit, but nobody saw it, what good is that?
So what do you do to get traffic to your website? Well there are some good honest options. PPC advertising is a reasonable answer. Banner or text ads areusually run along with useful content or article pages in hopes that they will be noticed, and the concept does work. The cost of bids per click though can get out of control for some bidding keywords. I usually don't like to spend more then 10 or 12 cents per click and will not bid more then 20 cents.
The best way of getting traffic is to get found in the search engines. Search engine optimization is either really expensive or very time consuming. Getting a high ranking on keywords you want will either take a very niche keyword, or hiring a quality SEO firm, or lots of work on your part. Basically the need would be to gain lots of links from other sites to your website, but links from pages that actually get indexed in the search engines. The design of your website and content is the other side of making this work, which will take trial and error to get it just right
Another good way is to create real content pages that link to your website and it's best to write articles that relate to your business. This is good, because it is likely that there are lots of things you know about the subject already. Then the idea is to put up lots of articles that will get indexed into the search engines with original contents. If you have 100 articles that get one visitor per day to your website, you have added 36,500 visitors per year.
